Their projects covered technical device design, artificial intelligence, finance, communications, and app development. One intern accepted a position at the Foundation after his internship concluded. Meet the Interns Essential Tremor Treatment Targeting Discussed at Workshop Last week, the Foundation and Insightec held a workshop to optimize targeting protocols for essential tremor treatments. More than 30 experts joined in person or virtually. A white paper summarizing the workshop’s outcomes will be made available soon. Read More Focused Ultrasound for Essential Tremor: Second Side Treatment Receives CE Mark Qualifying patients in Europe can now have their non-dominant side – or ‘second side’ – treated with focused ultrasound. The second treatment must take place at least nine months after the first side is treated. This CE mark comes after the procedure was cleared by the US FDA last year. New sessions address focused ultrasound applications for breast cancer, immunotherapy, histotripsy, neuromodulation, and more. The MOOC has also been migrated to a new hosting platform. Register Now Deadline Approaching to Submit Focused Ultrasound and ALS Research Proposals The Foundation and The ALS Association have partnered to advance transformational treatments for people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Up to $1 million in funding will support research projects that address critical questions to treat patients with ALS. The deadline to apply is October 2.
