Election of US President Joe Biden a Boon to the Focused Ultrasound Community
  • President Joe Biden’s longstanding commitment to fact-based policy and decision-making, science, and healthcare will expedite the advancement of focused ultrasound worldwide.
  • The President has elevated the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) director to a cabinet-level position for the first time in history. The Foundation's work fits within the mandate of OSTP, which in part advises the Executive Office on scientific and technological aspects of health.
  • In 2014, then-vice president Biden visited the Foundation's Symposium; his attendance was a great inspiration to the community.

French President Emmanuel Macron Visits Focused Ultrasound Center of Excellence
  • President Macron visited Physics for Medicine Paris and met with director Mickael Tanter, scientific director Jean-Francois Aubry, and others.
  • The visit kicked off a major project aimed at making France a world leader in digital health.
  • Physics for Medicine Paris was named a Focused Ultrasound Foundation Center of Excellence in 2019.

  • HistoSonics has obtained regulatory approvals for their #HOPE4LIVER US and #HOPE4LIVER Europe clinical trials.
  • Researchers are studying histotripsy to noninvasively destroy liver tumors.
