The purpose of the meeting was to share knowledge, identify gaps in evidence, and create a roadmap for the technical developments, laboratory studies, and clinical trials necessary for focused ultrasound to progress in the treatment of GBM. Topics included pelvic and head/neck cancer, liver tumors, microbubbles and radiotherapy, and ablative therapies.   The Foundation sponsored this important meeting. The online congress featured speakers from Japan, Taiwan, Spain, United Kingdom, and Russia. READ MORE >  New Preclinical Device for Focused Ultrasound in Glioblastoma French researchers developed a device to provide focused ultrasound blood-brain barrier opening and continuous wave laser photothermal therapy. The one-transducer system uses real-time photoacoustic in situ temperature monitoring.   It will be used to treat glioblastoma models. Data from 395 patients revealed hand tremors significantly improved from baseline to 24 months post-treatment, possibly lasting up to 48 months post-treatment and beyond.
