August 25, 2023 Request for Proposals: Focused Ultrasound and ALS Research The Foundation and The ALS Association have partnered to advance transformational treatments for people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Up to $1 million in funding will support research projects that address critical questions to treat patients with ALS. The deadline to apply is October 2. Read More & Apply Sonodynamic Therapy Roundtable Convenes Experts to Advance New Focused Ultrasound Application A recent virtual roundtable meeting addressed key questions related to sonodynamic therapy (SDT). SDT uses focused ultrasound to activate agents in tumor cells to cause cell death. Nearly 30 people from 10 sites around the world attended the meeting. Read More Foundation Launches Postdoctoral Fellowship Program The Postdoctoral Fellowship in Focused Ultrasound will provide $30,000 per year for two postdoctoral researchers employed at institutions around the world. Early-career researchers who have recently obtained a PhD are eligible to apply. Each Fellow will propose and design a focused ultrasound research project. Leaders in the focused ultrasound field presented their work, and several scientific abstracts may be of interest to the community.
