Foundation Receives Transformative $10 Million Contribution

Published:

An exceptionally generous, anonymous donor has made a pledge of $10 million of unrestricted funds to be matched 1-for-1 by 2022.

This pledge comes at a pivotal time for the Foundation and the focused ultrasound field, as research and access are expanding at a rapid rate. The Foundation’s annual budget is approximately $10 million for each of the next three years, and this transformative gift will help to accelerate the development and adoption of focused ultrasound.

Donor contributions will be matched dollar-for-dollar, thus doubling their impact, and will allow us to continue to fund research in a variety of areas including:

  • Brain disorders – glioblastoma, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, epilepsy, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression;
  • Cancer immunotherapy;
  • Pancreatic cancer;
  • Pediatric disorders; and
  • Veterinary inidcations.

The start date for this match was July 6, 2017. Every gift the Foundation receives subsequent to this date will count toward the $10 million goal.

“This exceptional pledge will inspire other donors by leveraging their contributions, and it will help us fulfill our mission more quickly. We are profoundly grateful,” said founder and chairman of the Focused Ultrasound Foundation, Neal F. Kassell, MD.
