Allison Preston-Smith

Allison Preston-Smith joined the Foundation in 2023. She works alongside reporters to share important updates, emerging research, and patient stories from the Foundation and its partners. Her career started in the journalism field where she worked as a reporter and anchor for news stations in Michigan and Indiana before transitioning to the nonprofit field, where she focuses on communications and public relations. She has worked for the University of Notre Dame and several other national and international nonprofits, securing media opportunities with the New York Times, the Washington Post, NPR, National Geographic, and more. Allison graduated from DePaul University with a BA in Journalism and received her Master’s in Nonprofit Administration from the University of Notre Dame.
