Sona Wang Joins Foundation’s Council

Sona WangWe are pleased to welcome Sona Wang to the Foundation’s Council, a dedicated group of goodwill ambassadors who work closely with the Board of Directors and staff to provide strategic advice and assist with building awareness, establishing relationships, and raising funds.

Ms. Wang has over 30 years of institutional venture investment experience. Since 1988, she has co-founded and managed three venture capital funds. Previously, she was an investment manager with Allstate Insurance Company’s Venture Capital Division, one of the oldest institutional venture funds in the US. Her investment focus has included information technology, life sciences, healthcare, and business services.

Prior to her career in venture capital, Ms. Wang was employed with Intel Corporation in key management positions in engineering, global manufacturing, and national marketing.

She has served or currently serves on numerous affiliate and corporate boards, from start-ups to companies with over $30 billion in annual revenues, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and NorthShore University Health System.

She currently serves on the Chicago Mayor’s Council of Technology Advisors and was previously appointed as Chairman of the Illinois Governor’s Economic Recovery Commission Committee.
