In July 2017, an exceptionally generous, anonymous donor pledged $10 million of unrestricted funds to be matched 1-for-1 by 2022. This transformative gift inspired donors who recognized the opportunity to fund more focused ultrasound research, more quickly, and appreciated that their contribution would be doubled. Thanks to their support and enthusiasm, the $10 million match was met in November 2018.
With an annual budget of approximately $10 million, the Foundation will be able to further accelerate the development and adoption of a game-changing technology because of this gift.
“The Foundation is dedicated to bringing important new focused ultrasound treatment options to patients in the shortest time possible,” said Foundation chairman Neal F. Kassell, MD. “We are grateful for all of our donors who support this mission. Because of them, we are approaching a day when focused ultrasound can become the standard of care for dozens of diseases and conditions, thereby reducing death, disability and suffering for millions of people.”
