On February 5, Foundation Chairman Neal F. Kassell, MD, spoke to a capacity crowd at the Quail Valley River Club in Vero Beach, Florida. Organized by Foundation donor and Quail Valley member Mrs. Flossie Fowlkes, the presentation was part of the Quail Valley Speaker Series.
The event was a great opportunity to raise awareness and advance the adoption of the technology more quickly.
Ahead of the presentation, a local media outlet – the Vero News – published an article on focused ultrasound and its potential to affect the lives of patients worldwide. In “Expert Spreads Word on ‘Focused Ultrasound’ for Parkinson’s,” reporter Tom Lloyd surveyed the work that has been done using focused ultrasound to treat movement disorders.
“We were pleased with the robust turnout at the event, and the guests asked many engaging questions,” said Dr. Kassell. “We would like to extend our gratitude to Flossie for initiating such a successful event.”
