Grammy-nominated DJ, producer, and philanthropist Steve Aoki has released a video illustrating how West Virginia University’s Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute (RNI) is using focused ultrasound technology to treat conditions like essential tremor, Alzheimer’s disease, and addiction.
The video features RNI’s executive chair, Ali Rezai, MD, who explains the technology and its potential to transform medicine. Viewers will also see moving footage of a Parkinson’s disease patient whose tremors were stilled after a single focused ultrasound treatment.
In 2012, Aoki established the Aoki Foundation with the primary goal of supporting organizations in the brain science and research areas with a specific focus on regenerative medicine and brain preservation.
