Hospital Receives $96 Million for Pediatric Brain Tumor Research

Children’s National Hospital (CNH) announced that the generous donation will support research and care for rare pediatric brain tumors.
CNH is researching the use of focused ultrasound to treat one of the deadliest tumors affecting children – diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma.
The site is the Foundation’s only pediatric Center of Excellence.

Ultrasound Cavitation Improves Delivery of Pancreatic Cancer Therapies

Researchers investigated whether focused ultrasound plus SonoTran® Particles could improve delivery of cancer therapies to pancreatic tumors.
They used a large animal model surgically engrafted with human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma tumors.
The treatment increased intratumor drug concentrations.
