Cordance Medical and two Stanford laboratories have partnered to combine the NeuroAccess™ blood-brain barrier opening device with a novel nanoparticle drug.
The initial clinical trial will test the device’s ability to 'uncage' drug-loaded nanoparticles within targeted areas of the brain in patients with chronic pain.
The 16th CTAD conference was held October 24–27 in Boston.
Dr. Ali Rezai presented preliminary results from his clinical trial using focused ultrasound to open the blood-brain barrier after the delivery of aducanumab.
The International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU) is seeking nominations for five positions on its board and many positions on a new student board.
“I can’t thank the clinical team at Maryland enough for pioneering this therapy and for treating me with such care throughout this experience. I also want to thank the Focused Ultrasound Foundation for funding this trial. Without them, I’d still be in pain.”
