On Monday, the Foundation will begin its first-ever virtual Symposium. The 7th International Symposium on Focused Ultrasound will bring together the global community of researchers, clinicians, industry leaders, and other stakeholders.
A few things to know about this year’s meeting:
The Symposium will run on the virtual platform Showcare.
More than 250 presentations will be available via a variety of formats, including live talks, prerecorded “on-demand” videos, and posters. See the Final Program >
New sessions have been designed to facilitate collaboration among virtual attendees, including roundtable discussions and Q&A opportunities.
The program includes an impressive group of keynote speeches and special lectures from inspiring pioneers in research, medtech, and innovation. See the Speakers >
Over five days, we will explore the latest in using focused ultrasound to treat conditions across oncology, neurology, women's health, cardiovascular disease, pediatrics, and more. We will also address technology gaps and commercialization efforts. Learn about new features this year.
Look for Two Emails When you register for the Symposium, expect a confirmation from Cvent and a separate email – from a Showcare address – containing login information. Remember to check your spam folders if you don’t see an email.
Don't Wait to Register There may be a lag time of up to one hour between when you register and when you have access to the meeting.
We asked each researcher to summarize his/her work in a brief sentence when submitting an abstract. Browse this list of “take-home messages” for a sneak peek of the week’s topics.
Don’t Miss: Two Carveout Sessions Dedicated to Partner Organizations
This year, we are dedicating time in the schedule to two important partner organizations: the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU), whose conference in May was canceled due to COVID-19, and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
An impressive group of keynote speakers and special lecturers will address a variety of topics relevant to focused ultrasound and the broader scientific community.
Nir Lipsman, MD, PhD, FRCSC, a neurosurgeon and scientist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center and Sunnybrook Research Institute, is this year’s recipient of the Ferenc Jolesz Memorial Award.
The Young Investigator Awards encourage quality research by those early in their career. This year, we recognize the work of nine individuals from four countries.
Hohyun Lee received the highest peer-reviewed rating among submissions from the Foundation's 2019 and 2020 Global Interns with his abstract, entitled “A Benchtop Focused Ultrasound System for Drug Screening Investigations in Central Nervous System.”
On Monday, November 9, six experts will present recent clinical and preclinical advances and emerging applications of focused ultrasound during an interactive press briefing.
