Isabella Small first joined the Foundation in 2016 as an intern for the Director of Operations. She worked closely on the State of the Field Report and helped analyze how focused ultrasound compares to other treatment modalities. In 2018, she returned to the Foundation as Intern for the Brain Program Director – Preclinical and Clinical. She assembled and summarized various bibliographic sources regarding mechanisms of action for focused ultrasound. Isabella joined the Foundation full-time in 2019 as a Research Assistant where she assists in the collaboration and acceleration of preclinical research projects. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Virginia and hopes to attend medical school in the future.
