The Focused Ultrasound Foundation and the Society of Interventional Oncology (SIO) presented a special webinar on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, exploring innovative, minimally invasive techniques for treating pancreatic cancer. This devastating disease affects more than 500,000 people worldwide each year and has an alarmingly high mortality rate.
Expert physicians discussed advances in various treatments, including trans-arterial micro-perfusion (TAMP), focused ultrasound (FUS), and irreversible electroporation/pulsed electric fields (IRE/PEF). This was followed by a live Q&A and discussion of barriers to and advantages of recruiting for clinical trials with new technologies.
