Financial Analysis
Project Overview
My project involved collecting and analyzing financial data using Excel and other analytical tools, generating detailed reports that facilitated management’s understanding of financial performance and potential risks. I also collaborated with the finance team to develop and maintain accurate financial models, projections, and budgeting reports, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and providing accurate financial projections. I assisted in the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, expense tracking, and financial reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.
Why were you initially interested in working with the Foundation?
I was initially drawn to the Foundation due to its groundbreaking work in healthcare. I was excited when presented with the opportunity to contribute my financial analysis skills to an organization making tangible advancements in the medical field.
Describe your experience as an intern.
The environment was incredibly welcoming. This experience provided me with a firsthand look into company operations, which showed me how each person plays a role in achieving the organization’s goals. The supportive atmosphere and tasks I undertook broadened my perspective on finance and its impact on the overall functioning of the Foundation.
What was the most important learning point of your internship experience?
I gained a comprehensive understanding of how the financial concepts I learned in school are applied within an organization. Additionally, I observed how financial decisions can impact various departments. I gleaned insights into the interconnected nature of finance in a real-world setting.
