New ARPA-H Program Could Enable Innovative and Accessible Focused Ultrasound Systems

Published:

The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) recently announced a program to develop novel technologies for precise cancer tumor removal. The Precision Surgical Interventions, or PSI, program aims to develop solutions to two major surgical problems: tumor edge visualization and critical anatomy visualization.

The Foundation encourages all researchers with eligible projects to apply for this ARPA-H program.

The deadline to submit an abstract is September 21.

The Foundation envisions the PSI program as an opportunity for researchers to collaborate on the development of advanced multi-modality focused ultrasound systems and/or those that are more affordable and accessible. Toward this end, the Foundation has compiled specifications that we believe could be helpful when designing new systems.
