To help launch the initiative, ARPA-H is asking young investigators, community innovators, and academic institutions to complete a network survey. The survey responses will help inform future funding directions in two tracks:

  • Technology-driven Innovation supports early career investigators in developing innovative health technologies. Eligible applicants will be early career researchers, within 10 years of earning their final degree, in academic or research institutions.
  • Community-center Innovation empowers community innovators to develop technology that addresses specific community needs. Eligible applicants will be community innovators, including community health care workers, medical professionals, nurses, social workers at community health centers, non-profit organizations, and/or faith-based organizations.

The agency is also hosting a virtual information session on the EHI Initiative on Thursday, October 17, at 3:00pm Eastern.

ARPA-H was established in March 2022 and is intended to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. The agency funds high-potential, high-impact biomedical and health research toward innovative solutions that have the potential to advance areas of medicine that cannot readily be accomplished through traditional research or commercial activity.
