Key Points
- TAITU 2024 was held on September 22 in Taipei, Taiwan, at the Taipei International Convention Center.
- The theme of the day was “Innovative Applications of Ultrasound in the Central Nervous System.”

The Taiwan Association of Interventional and Therapeutic Ultrasound (TAITU) meeting took place from 1 to 5 pm on September 22, 2024, at the Taipei International Convention Center in Taipei, Taiwan. The title was the “Taiwan, Japan, and Korea Forum on Innovative Applications of Ultrasound in CNS: Advances in Neuromodulation and Therapy.” It was held as a satellite meeting following the International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound (ISTU) conference and was free to all those who registered for ISTU.
Meeting presentations covered novel ultrasound applications, neuromodulation, intracranial gene and drug delivery, and Alzheimer’s disease. Each presentation was 25 minutes followed by 5 minutes for Q&A. The event also provided a forum for attendees to exchange insights and foster new collaborations.
Session Highlights and Speakers
Prof. Wen-Shiang Chen and Prof. Dr. Katsuro Tachibana gave opening remarks.
The Novel CNS Applications of Ultrasound session was moderated by Prof. Jae Young Lee. Presentations in this session included:
- Novel Approach to Apply Focused Ultrasound for Brain Disease by Prof. Won Seok Chang
- Intracranial Gene Delivery Mediated by Albumin-Based Nanobubbles and Low-Frequency Ultrasound by Prof. Hiroshi Kida
