The 17th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology (ASFNR) 2024 took place from August 23–26, 2024, in Snowmass, Colorado. With the theme of “Emerging Trends in Advanced Neuroimaging,” ASFNR 2024 provided the opportunity for clinicians, researchers, and industry representatives to share the most recent advances in the clinical application of imaging and functional interventions in the brain. Exciting new topics for 2024 included focused ultrasound and brain-computer interfaces, among others.
Focused Ultrasound at the Conference
The dedicated focused ultrasound session was held on August 24 and lasted 60 minutes. Moderated by Alexandre Boutet, MD, PhD (a neuroradiologist at Toronto Western Hospital) and Timothy Kaufmann, MD, MS (professor of radiology at Mayo Clinic), each sub-session highlighted a diverse neuroradiology application of the technology and generated lively discussion.
