CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (January 26, 2010) – Lodewijk J.R. de Vink, an internationally-known leader in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Focused Ultrasound Surgery Foundation at its January 26 meeting. He will serve a term of three years.
A founding partner of Blackstone Health Care Partners since April 2003, de Vink’s earlier executive positions included Chairman, International Health Care Partners; Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Warner-Lambert Company; and President of Schering International.
In addition to the Foundation board, de Vink is a member of the Board of Directors of Alcon, Inc.; Flamel Technologies S.A.; and Roche Holdings A.G. He is also on Sotheby’s International Advisory Board, and the European Advisory Council of Rothschild & Cie.
A Netherlands native, de Vink graduated from Nijenrode, the Netherlands School of Business. He later earned a B.B.A. from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and an M.B.A. from American University in Washington, D.C.
