Matthew Bucknor, MD, associate professor of radiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and Pejman Ghanouni, MD, PhD, assistant professor of radiology at Stanford University, were awarded the 2020 Andrew J. Lockhart Memorial Prize by the Focused Ultrasound Foundation. See the Press Release > 

On Thursday, November 5, 2020, Drs. Bucknor and Ghanouni shared their research in the field of focused ultrasound. 

Dr. Bucknor provided background on the scientific basis for using focused ultrasound to promote anti-tumor immune response effects and provided an overview of a trial of pre-operative MR-guided focused ultrasound for patients with soft tissue sarcomas.

Dr. Ghanouni discussed current and upcoming applications of MR-guided focused ultrasound, with an emphasis on body applications. He also covered technical innovations for improving safety and efficacy.
