International Businessman Ned Kelly Joins Focused Ultrasound Foundation Board

Charlottesville, VA (May 20, 2015) – The Focused Ultrasound Foundation, an entrepreneurial, tax-exempt, 501(c)3 dedicated to improving lives by advancing a transformative non-invasive treatment technology, is pleased to welcome Edward J. “Ned” Kelly, III to its Board of Directors. A seasoned executive in global banking, Mr. Kelly will advise the Foundation in strategic fundraising and facilitation of new engagement.

The Foundation’s board is comprised of highly successful thought leaders with extensive experience in science, biomedical research, healthcare, medical device and pharmaceutical industries, finance, and government and regulatory agencies.

Kelly previously served as chairman of the Institutional Clients Group at Citigroup Inc. He joined Citigroup in 2008, holding various executive positions including chairman of global banking, vice chairman, and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Citigroup, Kelly held leadership roles at The Carlyle Group, The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., Mercantile Bankshares Corp., and JP Morgan. He was also a former partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, an international law firm. Kelly is currently on the board of directors of CSX Corporation, MetLife, and XL Group, having previously served on many boards, including The Hartford Financial Services Group, University of Virginia’s Law School Foundation, Johns Hopkins University, and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Kelly received a B.A. in English from Princeton University and a J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law.
