In a feature published on the social journalism website Medium.com, Chief Scientific Officer, Jessica Foley, PhD, and Foundation Chairman Neal F. Kassell, MD, write about how focused ultrasound can enhance or replace surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy for cancer.

“We want to raise awareness of the potential to transform cancer treatment for many patients,” says Foley. “Our ultimate goal is translate that awareness into partnerships to advance the field toward widespread clinical adoption.”

Focused Ultrasound Can Help Propel the Cancer Moonshot” describes the technology, its potential impact in treating many different types of cancer via several different biomechanisms, and the ways that the Foundation is contributing to the Cancer Moonshot Initiative.
