  • The Walk is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
  • The Foundation team joined more than 1,000 local participants who collectively raised over $200,000.

In recognition of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, the Foundation team participated in the Charlottesville area’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s event on October 26. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.

The Foundation team joined more than 1,000 local participants who collectively raised over $200,000 to advance the fight against Alzheimer’s. It also hosted a booth to help educate attendees about the current research and resources available related to focused ultrasound for the disease.

“Our team was proud to join the Charlottesville community in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and stand alongside so many who share our commitment to finding better treatments,” said Lydia Bockmoore, the Foundation’s Wellness Program Manager. “As someone who lost my father to Alzheimer’s when I was 23, this cause is deeply personal to me. Focused ultrasound holds promise for transforming how we treat Alzheimer’s disease. Events like this remind us why our work matters and inspire us to keep pushing forward.”
