  • During Mental Health Awareness Month this May, the Foundation team raised money for Mental Health America.
  • Mental health is an important part of overall health, and this initiative supports the Foundation’s mission of promoting wellness for all patients.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this year, the Foundation team chose to support this important initiative. The 2022 theme for the month was “Getting Back to Basics,” meaning focusing on the goal of providing foundational knowledge about mental health and what people can do if they, or a loved one, are concerned about their mental health.

The Foundation’s Wellness and Community Outreach Manager, Michelle Majorin, organized a fundraising effort to support Mental Health America, a leading non-profit committed to promoting mental health as a critical part of overall wellness. Established in 1909, the organization provides prevention services for all, early identification and intervention for those at risk, and integrated care, services, and support for those who need them.

In all, the Foundation team donated a total of $1,126 for Mental Health America.

Another way the team recognized mental health in May was through a guided meditation session to help bring mindfulness to the busy workday.

“The Foundation recognizes that mental health is a crucial component of wellness as a whole,” said Ms. Majorin. “As an organization, we recognize that bringing openness and awareness to its importance is a crucial step in reducing the stigma that can be associated with seeking help or treatment.”
