MDMA is a national trade association based in Washington, DC, that provides educational and advocacy assistance to innovative and entrepreneurial medical technology companies. Since 1992, MDMA has been a voice for medical technology innovation, playing a proactive role in helping to shape policies that impact the ecosystem. This is accomplished by working with key Members of Congress, senior staff at the Food and Drug Administration, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other agencies, and through the grassroots support of members.

“We believe it’s important to have all the various trade associations – including MDMA, MITA, and AdvaMed – engaged with focused ultrasound companies and the Foundation so they can better understand the issues we face and effectively advocate on our behalf,” said Jessica Foley, PhD, the Foundation’s Chief Scientific Officer and head of advocacy and government relations. “Efforts such as the creation and (hopeful) implementation of the Medicare Coverage of Innovative Technologies (MCIT) rule have resulted from the collective efforts by all these organizations in partnership with the entire medical device community, including specific efforts by the Foundation and others in the focused ultrasound community.”
