With the goals of raising awareness for focused ultrasound and raising funds for patients living with movement disorders, the proceeds from each event will directly support education, access, and treatment options that help restore independence and confidence to those affected.
The Be Still Foundation was founded in 2024 by Bobby Krause after he found relief from his young-onset Parkinson’s disease thanks to focused ultrasound. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to expanding access to focused ultrasound treatment for people with tremor-dominant Parkinson’s disease. Be Still provides financial assistance, education, and awareness for patients seeking treatment and helps cover costs like cash-pay procedures, insurance deductibles, travel, and other related expenses.
Bobby shared his story and the origins for his Foundation in a patient story and on the Curing with Sound Podcast. He has also advocated for the technology on Capitol Hill.
Eager to take part in the mission of the tournaments, the Foundation’s director of clinical relationships, Suzanne LeBlang, MD, will be entering the senior pro division in Philadelphia. Furthermore, the Foundation will be giving away gift bags with sweatshirts, water bottles, and other swag.
“I’m excited to be part of this event and to help encourage and support individuals living with essential tremor or Parkinson’s disease. Staying active and socially connected is important for overall wellbeing, and pickleball offers a wonderful way to enjoy both,” said Dr. LeBlang. “Focused ultrasound treatment can help people with tremors regain or maintain their ability to participate in this fun and fast-growing sport. It’s inspiring to see how opportunities like this can bring people together and keep them moving!”
Pickleball players can enter singles or doubles events, and spectator tickets are also available. There are nice prizes for each division, including cash, paddles, and gear. The fun continues with amazing raffle items like a trip to any Disney resort or cruise for five people, World Cup tickets, and more. Attendees can also enjoy guest appearances, free lessons from pros, and local food trucks.
