Project
UK Development and Funding Application Research

Project Overview
My project involved researching funding sources to help support the UK Focused Ultrasound Foundation efforts to fund research in the UK.  After compiling grant opportunities into a spreadsheet, I entered them into our CRM.  I also drafted summaries of current research projects to submit with funding applications.  These summaries were also repurposed into a brochure format to share with potential donors.

Project Outcomes
I produced six brochures and added new foundations and funding opportunities into the Foundation’s data management system. I also worked to update more than 350 funding opportunities that had been added by last year’s interns.

Why were you initially interested in working with the Focused Ultrasound Foundation?
I was excited by the opportunity to work with a multinational nonprofit to gain international business experience and learn more about the field.

Has your internship affected your career plans? If so, how?
My career plans are still currently in flux, but this summer has certainly opened my eyes to the possibility of continuing to work in the field of healthcare in the future.
