CORRECTION: To clarify an earlier report regarding the use of ultrasound to open the blood-brain barrier (BBB) to treat glioblastoma, CarThera’s recent SonoCloud-1 trial is the first time in the world that the BBB had been opened to deliver drugs using a surgically implanted ultrasound device. A prior report stated that a different trial was "the world’s first clinical trial using focused ultrasound to open the BBB and allow chemotherapeutic agents to reach tumors more efficiently."
