First in Human Results: Focused Ultrasound Safe and Could Treat Serious Prenatal Twin Condition

Results from the world’s first clinical trial to employ high-intensity focused ultrasound in twin-twin transfusion syndrome have now been published.
Ten participants with this rare and serious prenatal condition were enrolled, and 90% of targeted vessels were successfully treated.

Five preclinical projects have been initiated since April this year.
Researchers are investigating focused ultrasound to change the microenvironment of various tumors, including glioblastoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and breast cancer.

FocalTherics Announces Patients Treated for Endometriosis in New European Program

Patients with deep infiltrating endometriosis can now be treated with the Focal One® device in France.
The treatments are part of the company’s first European commercial endometriosis program, and similar programs are being planned in the UK and Latin America.
