Pancreatic Cancer Workshop White Paper Now Available

In November 2024, the Foundation hosted a workshop on the role of focused ultrasound in the treatment of pancreatic cancer.
The presentations, discussions, and action items have now been summarized in a white paper.

New Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trial Begins in France

A clinical trial in France will test EDAP’s new high-intensity focused ultrasound device for treating pancreatic cancer.
Patients with locally advanced, unresectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma are eligible for the research study.

Foundation Names First Gene Therapy Award Recipient

Sarah Fong, PhD, has received the 2025 Foundation-sponsored American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy Career Development Award.
Dr. Fong’s project combines genetic engineering technologies with ultrasound to enhance novel gene therapies.

Investigator Profile: Jerzy Szablowski, PhD

Dr. Szablowski’s biomedical engineering laboratory at Rice University has been steadily growing over the past five years.
His work using focused ultrasound–mediated and targeted gene delivery to the brain may help patients with neurodegenerative disorders and psychiatric diseases.

Call for Applications: Focused Ultrasound Foundation's Industry Summer Internships

The Foundation is partnering with three focused ultrasound companies to offer new in-person summer internship opportunities.
Applications are due April 15 for undergraduate students who are interested in focused ultrasound.
