Their work is the result of collaboration between the University, the Foundation, and the state of Virginia. The site is treating movement disorders and conducting trials for pain, epilepsy, breast cancer, and glioblastoma. He addressed the current status of focused ultrasound for Parkinson's and answered several questions. Two of the ten patients were treated on both sides of the brain in one session. Twelve months after treatment, patients reported measurable symptom relief. READ THE PRESS RELEASE > Profound Medical’s Sonalleve Device Highlighted by FDA  Approved to treat osteoid osteomas, the Sonalleve device was listed among novel devices authorized by the FDA in 2020.  This was the first focused ultrasound approval directly impacting pediatric patients and the sixth approval in the US.
