KranionBanner2 1000The Foundation has established a Kranion® user group that connects on the Zoom platform and meets about once a month to network, share experiences, and collaborate. Kranion® is an open source focused ultrasound simulation tool that was developed at the Foundation for the use of the entire community. It is freely available.

The most recent Kranion® user group meeting was held on March 29. It lasted about an hour and was attended by a group of 14 researchers. Anyone who is interested in simulation technology is welcome to join this group! To learn more and add your name to the notification list, contact John Snell, PhD, the director of the Foundation’s Brain Technical Program.

Major topics of interest for Kranion® include:

  • Skull aberration correction
  • Skull density ratio calculation tools
  • Cloud-based Kranion® access
  • Treatment review with dose display

“At this point, we have approximately 30 Kranion® users worldwide,” said Dr. Snell. “Physicians and scientists are using it for range of purposes, including skull density ratio calculation for patient selection, post procedure review, and skull phase aberration correction research.”

To join the Kranion® user group, email Dr. Snell.
