The Foundation’s Chief Scientific Officer, Jessica Foley, PhD, took part in the “Worlds Collide: The Future of Medical Devices” panel, part of an invitation-only event titled “Diving into the Diverse Medical Device Landscape.” The day was hosted by FasterCures and the US Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) and focused on the broad scope of innovations regulated by CDRH, including digital and mobile health technologies, devices, diagnostics, and more.

Foley shared exciting recent developments in focused ultrasound and thoughts on the future opportunities and challenges on the road toward its widespread adoption and how these reflect overall themes in the medical device industry. The audience of about 25, including leaders from patient organizations, industry, academia, and the CDRH, was eager to learn more about focused ultrasound and the Foundation as a model for medical technology development.

The following day, Foley joined more than 250 people attending the Partnering for Cures meeting, also in San Francisco. Since 2009, Partnering for Cures has been the go-to meeting for accelerating patient-centered solutions and creating meaningful collaborations.

“Attending Partnering for Cures always enables new connections and the opportunity to raise awareness of focused ultrasound and the Foundation’s unique perspectives with a diverse audience," says Foley.
