The event is hosted by the Academy’s Coalition for Imaging & Bioengineering Research (CIBR) to facilitate the interaction of policymakers with academic researchers, industry partners, imaging societies, foundations, and patients to demonstrate the value of medical imaging and bioengineering technology in improving patient outcomes.

Jessica Foley, PhD, the Foundation’s Chief Scientific Officer, joined one of the 14 collaborative “booths” that teamed academic, industry, and foundation/patient representatives to tell a story about what is possible with current advancements in imaging and medical technology. Their booth on 3D printing for surgical planning of kidney cancer is pictured and includes representatives from Action to Cure Kidney Cancer, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and FUJIFILM.

Furthermore, focused ultrasound researchers Kenneth Bader, PhD (University of Chicago) and Matt Bucknor, MD (UC San Francisco) were also among the Academy’s Early Career Investigators and presented posters at the event.
