Ansu Immune 2 Cancer Day 1920 x 10052This month marks the 9th annual Cancer Immunotherapy Month™, and the Foundation has coordinated with two leaders in the field – the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI) – to help raise awareness of immunotherapy for all types of cancer and focused ultrasound’s role in therapy.

“One of the Foundation’s central research programs is dedicated to understanding how focused ultrasound can enhance immunotherapies,” said the Foundation’s Chief Scientific Officer, Jessica Foley, PhD. “There are clinical trials underway to investigate focused ultrasound and immunotherapy for breast cancer, sarcomas, and metastatic solid tumors. We strive to reduce the time it takes for these combination treatments to reach the clinic, and we are proud to partner with CRI and PICI to this end.”

Virtual Fireside Chat

Earlier today, Dr. Foley held a virtual fireside chat with CRI’s Chief Executive Officer, Jill O’Donnell-Tormey, PhD, and Theresa LaVallee, PhD, Vice President of Translational Medicine and Regulatory Affairs at PICI, to discuss the lifesaving potential of cancer immunotherapy and how the organizations are working together to advance exciting new research and bring new treatments to patients.

Raising Awareness on Social Media

The Foundation is also recognizing Cancer Immunotherapy Month on social media. On June 11, the team joined together in wearing white for CRI’s #Immune2Cancer Day. We are also nearing the end of a 30-day campaign across all our social media channels sharing key facts and research highlights related to focused ultrasound and cancer immunotherapy. To date, we have reached more than 40,000 people.

We encourage you to view our posts – and those of others who are recognizing the month – by searching for #CIM21 across social media. It’s not too late to post your own as well!
