Longtime Foundation Board Member, Frederic H. Moll, MD, recently sold his medical robotics company, Auris Health, Inc., to Johnson & Johnson (J&J), for $3.4 billion, with an additional $2.35 billion in payments contingent upon predetermined milestones. With the sale, Dr. Moll also accepted the position of Chief Development Officer of J&J Medical Devices Companies.
According to its press release, J&J plans to use Auris’s robotic platform technology, which was developed for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the lung, to combat lung cancer and expand its digital surgery portfolio across multiple surgical specialties.
