Fibroid Relief Patient Advocate Appears on Hit TV Show, “The Doctors”

Erin, a blogger and patient advocate for the Foundation’s Patient Support Organization, Fibroid Relief, will be a guest on the hit daytime TV talk show, “The Doctors.”

Erin will appear on April 9, in a segment about uterine fibroids. She will share her story about living with the condition and being successfully treated with MR-guided FUS. The segment will be archived online on www.thedoctorstv.com.

On April 27, Erin will be a panelist at Fibroid Relief at Last, a free, public information event sponsored by Fibroid Relief in Los Angeles. Other panelists will include UCLA clinicians and a naturopathic physician. “Patients will have an opportunity to have their pressing questions answered by panel members in an open and welcoming environment,” explains Tina Krall, executive director of Fibroid Relief.

“It will be exciting to have Erin with us,” Krall adds. “Women who are struggling with uterine fibroids really appreciate hearing from someone who has walked in their shoes. Erin does a beautiful job of sharing her story and connecting with the audience.”

The LA event is the third in a series of programs designed to educate women about uterine fibroids and current treatment options, including focused ultrasound.  Previous events were held in 2009 in Chicago and London.

According to Krall, the LA event will be the first to include a discussion of alternative medicine. “We know there’s great interest in this topic from the many women who submit questions to our website and Facebook page,” she says.

Event details: 6:00 p.m. at the Marriott Marina del Ray, Bayview Ballroom and Patio.

Speakers: Dr. Chris Tarnay (Gynecologist); Dr. Michael Johnson (Gynecologist); Dr. Steve Raman (Focused Ultrasound); Dr. Cheryl Hoffman (Uterine Fibroid Embolization); Sarah Murphy N.D. (Holistic Medicine) and Erin.
