Bush 400The Focused Ultrasound Foundation was honored to host former Florida Governor Jeb Bush on November 21 and highlight the tremendous potential of focused ultrasound and the Foundation’s role in advancing this important technology

Accompanying Governor Bush were several colleagues and fellow Floridians including Alberto and Olga Beeck who launched the Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation at Georgetown University.

Following a presentation and conversation with Foundation Chairman Neal Kassell, M.D. and board member John Grisham, Bush said, “Focused ultrasound is an amazing technology that is creating a revolution in the treatment of many diseases.”

As a unique organization on the leading edge of the venture philanthropy and social entrepreneurship movements, the Foundation was of great interest to the Beecks and Governor Bush. “The Foundation is a fantastic model of how an organization can have a transformative effect on the world by changing the way a medical technology develops. Thanks to the activities of the Focused Ultrasound Foundation, the field is advancing more rapidly and is closer to realizing its full potential to improve the lives of millions of individuals,” Bush said.

“This was a valuable opportunity to further share the revolutionary potential of focused ultrasound,” Kassell said. “We hope that we have inspired our visitors to spread a very positive and hopeful message.”
