Abstract

Single-arm 10 patient study. Patients with tumors who are scheduled for surgery have FUS treatment before procedure on one part of the tumor and the tissue around it. BBB opened through sonication to vibrate microbubbles in the blood, verification of opening done by MR contrast. Then chemo injected, then surgery. Physician resects the tumor and surrounding tissue to compare chemo penetration between with/without FUS; Original funding amount = 110,279.81; if treatments successful, will pay an additional 110,000 (20,030.25/pt) for 5 more patients.
