Matt Eames - Brain Program Senior Project Engineer
Matt Eames, PhD, is supporting the development of technical infrastructure for clinical FUS.
Eames earned his doctorate in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia in ultrasound. Funding for his position was made possible by an anonymous $1 million donation to the FUSF Brain Program.
Tina Krall - Executive Director, Fibroid Relief
Tina Krall has joined Fibroid Relief. She envisions expanding the organization’s presence and outreach to women through “Fibroid Relief at Last” events and by developing an international grassroots network of support groups. Krall also plans to draw upon her experience in managing and developing relationships with high level volunteers such as members of boards of trustees and advisory councils.
Krall brings over 15 years nonprofit management and fundraising experience to her new position and has a particular interest in health care, having held management positions at the American Cancer Society in the Washington, D.C. area.
Most recently, she served on the staff of the Miller Center Foundation at the Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia. Tina holds degrees from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and The American University in Washington, D.C.
Ellen McKenna - Director of Communications
Ellen McKenna has become FUSF Director of Communications. Most recently, she worked for the University of Virginia Health System, where she provided public relations support for the FUSF’s first Focused Ultrasound Center of Excellence.
Ellen has an extensive background in strategic communications planning and content development. Her experience spans several entrepreneurial ventures, a succession of managerial positions at AT&T and Bristol-Meyers Squibb, and her own consultancy practice that specialized in strategic planning, marketing communications and public relations.
She earned a BA in Journalism/Public Relations from Kent State University in Ohio and an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
