The following are a few of the meetings, workshops and symposia that the Foundation has organized over the years.  In addition, the Foundation has sponsored many conferences that feature focused ultrasound.

Brain Workshop 2011

Nearly 80 leading scientists, researchers, public health officials and industry executives from 12 countries and 30 different institutions participated in the FUS Foundation’s third invitational Brain Workshop from October 23 to 26. With 46 presentations on the agenda, this year’s workshop provided an in-depth progress report on the status of the Brain Program and the work ahead.

Focal Drug Delivery 2011

The workshop brought together 63 participants, from 10 countries, representing 36 institutions – including clinicians, scientists, and engineers from academia, industry and governmental agencies. Brain, pancreas and liver cancer emerged as the top priority indications with prostate and head and neck cancers viewed has more futuristic in nature. Participants discussed promising pre-clinical research related to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases and agreed that new focal drug delivery treatments for these debilitating conditions could imminently enter development. 

MRgFUS Symposium 2010

Our 2010 Symposium included 320 attendees from 22 countries. Presentations featured the growing number of new indications that are under development including stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, back pain and tumors of the brain, thyroid, breast, liver, prostate, pancreas and bone. Also, the number of presentations was greatly increased from the Foundation’s first international symposium - in 2008, there were 40 presentations; in 2010 there were more than 130.

Brain Workshop 2009

The primary objective of the workshop was to develop a comprehensive R&D roadmap that would fast-track the use of this technology to treat a variety of brain disorders including benign and malignant tumors, Parkinson's disease and essential tremor, stroke, and epilepsy

MRgFUS Symposium 2008

Bringing together nearly 350 expert clinicians, researchers, device manufacturers, regulatory experts, and others from 19 countries, this symposium served to catalyize the focused ultrasound community.
