Neurosurgeon W. Jeffrey Elias, M.D. of the University of Virginia is pioneering MR-guided focused ultrasound as a treatment for movement disorders. He made headlines earlier this year for launching a FUS Foundation-funded first-in-the-world clinical trial using MR-guided focused ultrasound to treat patients with essential tremor.
