The Foundation's patient support organization, Fibroid Relief, participated in the inaugural Congressional Exhibition of Medical Equipment Innovations on Capitol Hill. Presented by the Coalition for Imaging & Bioengineering Research (CIBR), the event was hosted by Representative Edolphus Towns of New York. Industry partners, including GE Healthcare, Philips and US-HIFU, patient advocacy groups and academic radiologists were invited to demonstrate imaging modalities and their benefits to patient care.
Fibroid Relief joined GE Healthcare at its booth along with its corporate partner, Insightec. Representative Dick Gephardt also made remarks at the event and stopped by the GE Healthcare booth for a brief demonstration.
